Het Europees Kampioenschap voor Veteranen dat in Brussel gehouden zou worden zal dit jaar geen doorgang vinden. European Veterans Fencing (EVF) heeft met de organisatie gezocht naar een manier om het toernooi op een veilige manier te houden.Dit is echter niet mogelijk gebleken.

2020 EUROPEAN TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
As you have been advised over the past months, we postponed the European Team
Championships in May because we hoped that we might be able to offer them later
in the year.
In the past few weeks we have undertaken an enormous amount of work with our
colleagues in Belgium to see if we could establish a safe environment in which
fencers could get to Brussels and contest the Championships in November.
While November feels like a long way ahead and while many countries are seeing
a drop in infections and mortality, we are aware that the virus is still around
and still a great danger to our cohort of fencers. No matter how we
planned it, we could not guarantee a risk free event.
It is therefore with great sadness that I have to announce the cancellation of
the 2020 Championships.
We want to thank Paul van Agtmael and his wonderful team for trying so hard to
match our optimism with their plans for the event.
